NPS is the Navy's University and a U.S. Government installation.  We carefully follow all Department of Defense security requirements for protection of personnel and facilities.  Thanks for observing all rules and good security practices while on board for MRS2024.

Location

You may walk or drive to arrive at NPS main gate at Sloat Avenue and Ninth Street, Monterey.

NPS gate and Gate Access office are shown in lower-left corner of NPS Campus Map.  Please remember that proper identification is required whenever arriving at the gate to enter NPS.  Please keep your pass and your ID with you while on base.

Once on campus, Glasgow Hall Room 102 is our primary meeting room for MRS2024.

IMPORTANT: please follow the NPS Gate Access Services instructions. This requires filling in and submitting a SECNAV form 5512 via email for advance confirmation of your eligibility.

Participants needing access approval are advised to complete this requirement immediately!  If you have difficulties completing the form, please communicate directly via email.

We want you to join us at MRS2024!  NPS is working to ensure rapid review of all access requests right up through the symposium start dates.

Once you are approved, be sure to keep at least one authorized type of identification with you.  When first arriving at the main gate, you will need to pull into the small parking lot by the gate, then check in via the Gate Access Services building.  Customer Service hours are

Once you have these access credentials, you are permitted unescorted access at NPS.

Parking

MRS2024 is occurring during quarterly NPS exam week.  As a result, we expect that there will be plenty of parking in the parking lots behind Glasgow Hall.  This location is shown in upper-left corner of NPS Campus Map.

Please be advised that parking at NPS and in the surrounding neighborhood can be limited.  Attendees are encouraged to walk, car pool, or use public transportation to get on campus.  Violators of campus parking restrictions or City of Monterey ordinances are typically ticketed.
